Intro
This is a supplement that is given to support the liver. It can be given in a preventative fashion, for instance if a dog is on another medication with known potential liver complications. It is also used when a pet has active liver disease. Because this medication is a supplement, the claims have not been verified by the FDA. However, several veterinary studies support its use both preventatively and as a treatment.
Missed doses and Changing medications
Denamarin is usually given twice a day initially. The dose frequency may be reduced over time.
Denamarin should be given on an empty stomach. This means no food or medications may be given within an hour of giving denamarin.
If your pet is on the tablet form, the tablets should not be crushed. There is also a chewable form, which some pets prefer.
